Linda R. Newman
Linda Reynolds Newman of Martinsville, VA died on September 14, 2024, at her home. She was born on July 24, 1948, in Danville, Virginia to the late Stafford Richardson Eanes and Virginia Aaron Eanes.
Linda lived most of her life in the Mountain Valley area of Henry County. She was a graduate of Fieldale Collinsville High School and attended beauty school in Danville, Virginia. Earlier in her life, she worked for Henry County Public Schools before becoming employed at several dentist practices in Martinsville. She was a member of County Line Christian Church.
Throughout her life, Linda was incredibly dedicated to her family and spent many years taking care of not only her immediate family but several special aunts and a cousin. Linda breathed life into everyone around her and made everyone feel special, always going the extra mile on birthdays and holidays. She had a dynamic personality and never met a stranger with trips to the store routinely taking twice as long because she ran into so many people she knew. If you ask her family if there was anything she could not do, they would not have an answer as she was the best mother, cook, gardener, cat Mom, decorator, bird watcher, Mimi, and friend they have ever had. Linda was a resilient and strong woman who faced more than her fair share of setbacks in life with the most recent being her Glioblastoma diagnosis in 2021. Like she had done prior during difficult seasons, she fought hard and kept the faith. To say she was remarkable would be an understatement.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Danny Gail Reynolds. Surviving are her husband, Leon Newman of Martinsville, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher D. Reynolds and Annette Reynolds of Martinsville, VA; her daughter and son-in-law, Caroleigh Newman and Logan Davis of Williamsburg, VA; one grandchild, McKenzie Reynolds of Martinsville, Virginia; and several special cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 2:00 P.M., at County Line Christian Church, 12711 Chatham Road, Axton, VA 24054, with Minister Dean Ashby officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to County Line Christian Church, 12711 Chatham Road, Axton, VA 24054.
