Lisa Renay Gibson

September 16, 1963 - February 21, 2025

Lisa Renay Gibson of Madison Heights passed away February 21, 2025 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born in Lynchburg, Lisa was the daughter of the late John Dean Gibson and Gladys Mae Crawford Gibson. She was also preceded in death by her brother John "Dean" Gibson, Jr. and her best friend Harvey "J.B." Allen.

She is survived by her sister Carolyn and her husband Paul Burgess of Madison Heights, nephew Jacob Burgess of Minnesota, and special aunts, cousins, and friends.

Although suffering from a young age with multiple health issues, including poor vision, she graduated from Phillips Business College with a Medical Assistant degree, found the love of her life, J.B., while working at Lynchburg College and volunteered many years at the hospital showing compassion to patients as only someone who has been there could do. More recently she found care, friendships, and laughter at the PACE program. She enjoyed anything chocolate, Pepsi, and football. Go Steelers!

Lisa had a strong yet quiet faith in her savior Jesus Christ. The first thing she saw with healed eyes was heaven. The first thing she felt with a healed heart was God's glory. No doubt, the first thing she did with a healed body was dance!

Lisa was blessed with amazing health care throughout her life. The family would like to thank the staff and special home health aides of PACE for helping Lisa remain independent and Dr. Lockridge and Dr. Bose for their gifts in renal patient care. To the first responders who were always there when called and many other people and organizations that played a part through medical care or prayer, thank you.

A Celebration of Life and luncheon will be held Saturday, March 1 at 11:30am in the lower level of Lighthouse Baptist Church, 503 Wright Shop Road, Madison Heights.

The family asks that memorials be made to the Monelison Volunteer Fire Department.
