Lloyd Stanford Statzer

Lloyd “Stan” Stanford Statzer, Jr., 72, went to be with the Lord July 23, 2023 following a lingering illness at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with his wife of 53 years at his side.  He is survived by his wife Jo Ann and son Joseph “Joey” Lloyd Statzer, grandchildren Nevaeh and Ealin, mother Agnes and his brother Charlie (Debbie) Statzer.

A lifelong resident of the Glenvar area Stan loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  The focus of his life was his family and faith and he was acknowledged by friends and neighbors to be “a good guy”.  He will be deeply missed. 

In 2009, Stan retired from General Electric after 40 years of service.  He served honorably in the Army National Guard and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Salem.

Services will be held at Lotz Funeral Home Chapel, 1330 East Main Street, Salem, with Pastor Roger Counts presiding on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 11 a.m. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lotz Funeral Home Salem.
