Mom was a loving mother who dedicated her life to her children and their families. She sure enjoyed having gatherings of friends and family, where so much love and laughter were shared through storytelling, reenactments of ancestors, poetry and song writings. Mom’s hilarious costumes and comical presentations always stole the show.
Mom was an amazing artisan in the kitchen and prepared many feasts, both for large gatherings and our daily meals. At age 82, she started a Farmstand Business “Mama’s Homeplace Products” and the lines were long to get her tasty cakes, cookies, pies, homemade pickles and relish, along with tomatoes from the garden. Though we try to repeat her many recipes there’s always one missing ingredient, her Love
Mom so enjoyed getting flowers, the family requests those who would like to express sympathy to consider donating flowers to Carrington Place, 290 Commons Parkway, Daleville Va. 24083, to be shared with residents and staff, which would bring them many smiles. She spent the last year and a half there making new friends and spreading love and joy. Many thanks to Stephanie, Dedrick, Sharon, Abby and so many others who helped brighten her days.
A private service will be held on July 31st, with Interment at Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town WV.
Mom always said “you’ve got to have lots of laughter in life”
