Lois Evelyn Burge

August 10, 1934 - March 6, 2024

Lois Masterson Burge, 89, of Roanoke County went to be with the lord on March 6, 2024, at Richfield’s Joseph C. Thomas Center. Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert, and Hazel Masterson; husband, Joseph Burge; and sisters, Betty Mullins, and Dorothy Maxie.

Lois was a longtime member of Colonial Avenue Baptist church. Going to church, and fellowshipping with the other churchgoers always brightened her day. When Lois had down time, you could find her tucked away relaxing while reading her bible. She also enjoyed golfing, swimming, traveling, creating beautiful stained glass, and playing the piano. She was employed by the United Transportation Union Association until her retirement.

Those left behind to keep her memory alive include her children, Martin Rickmon (Sherry), and Terry Rickmon (Paige); siblings, Gayle Witt (Larry), and Earl Masterson (Carolyn); grandchildren, Matthew Rickmon (Alana), and Nicholas Rickmon; great-grandchildren, Skylar Rickmon, Liam Rickmon, and Ava Rickmon; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff at both Medi Hospice and the Joseph C. Tomas Center in Salem.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Lois Masterson Burge will be held at 2pm on Tuesday March 12, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
