Loretta Ward

Loretta Harris Ward, 84, of Salem, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Pauline Harris; husband, Ronald Stuart Ward; and longtime friend and walking partner, Wanda Waldron.

Surviving are her sons, Ronald Rooney Ward, Bill Ward, and Darrell Ward; siblings, Carolyn Cundiff, Patti Mason, and Bobby Harris; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and longtime friend and walking partner, Lavene Hylton.

A time to celebrate Loretta’s life will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023, in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem, Va. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., and the service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bobby Pickle officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Evergreen Burial Park in Roanoke, Va.
