Lorraine Marie Linn
Lorraine Marie Linn passed away on November 1, 2024. Born in Chicago, Illinois on December 14, 1930, she was the daughter of John McMahon and Edith (Girard) McMahon. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, James “Jim” and John “Jack”, and her beloved husband of 64 years Paul Edward “Buss” Linn. She attended Sacred Heart School in Chicago for all 12 years of her schooling. She met her husband Buss while he was working on the railroad in Chicago. They were married on April 4, 1959. They raised their two children together, a daughter, Debi, and a son, Paul.Lorraine was baptized as a Catholic in 1931 and remained a devoted Catholic until her death. She and her husband Buss were ushers at Holy Cross Catholic Church, and members since 1979. She was also a eucharistic minister for the church.Lorraine held many different jobs while her husband Buss worked away from the family as an officer in the Navy and then a nuclear engineer. The jobs that brought her the most pride, however, were being a housewife and homemaker. She was a proud Navy housewife and loved traveling the country with her family. Lorraine adored animals and raised dogs, cats and horses. She loved grooming poodles and riding horses. She was president of her horse-riding group when they lived in Cuba called the Rough Riders. She also sold Avon door to door. She was a loving mother and a doting grandmother/great-grandmother. She often told people how proud she was of her family and how much she loved them.Lorraine leaves behind her daughter, Debi Langley, and her son, Paul Edward Linn II. Also surviving are grandchildren Elizabeth Snow, Kristen McCormick, Melissa Linn, Shawn Langley, Patrick Langley and great-grandchildren Stefan Grant, Blake Snow, Lewis White III, Aria White and Clark Langley. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, officiated by Father Salvador F. Añonuevo.Lorraine will be laid to rest on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Hill Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church.
