Loy Lee King

Loy Lee King, 85, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Monday, February 27, 2023.
Mr. King was active in numerous community organizations. He was a Big Brother; volunteered for several mission trips that traveled anywhere from southwest Virginia to several foreign countries; lead Bible Studies at Friendship House,  served as a Sundy School Teacher and as a Youth Counselor.  He was a devoted Blood Donor and active member of the Gideons.  He retired from the Marketing Department of Norfolk Southern Corporation and  was an avid Cardinals fan and teller of great stories.

Surviving is his wife, Mary B. King; children, Rochelle, Tim, Lisa, Kerry and Lee (Claudia); five grandchildren including, Robert (Hollie) and their children, Kylie, Maggie, and Eli; and a dear friend, Ronnie.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Riverland Road Baptist Church 459 Riverland Road Roanoke, VA  24014.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Riverland Road Baptist Church by Pastor Terry Nester.  Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.  540-366-0707.
