Lynda Pierson Martin

Lynda Pierson Martin, 73, of Bedford, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members onWednesday, January 3, 2024, at her residence. She was born on Saturday, April 1, 1950, in Bedford, adaughter of the late Charles Benjamin Reed Jr. and Glenna Lafon Reed who survives. She was alsopreceded by her husband, John Jefferson Martin; son, Robert (Bobby) Miller Jr.; granddaughter, Sophia
Long.
Lynda spent her nursing career providing excellent care for those at work and within the community.Lynda was a faithful volunteer with the VFW, her passion for the VFW was due to her father’s militaryservice. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church of Rocky Mount.
In her free time, Lynda enjoyed shopping, playing the local slots (at times, too much), and spending timewith her family. She also enjoyed her Boxer, Destiny. Lynda had a unique sense of humor that most grewto love.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughters, Mary Katherine Swedberg and StephanieMiller Moir (Barry) both of Bedford; brothers, Charles B. Reed III (Peggy), Jerry A. Reed; 1 nephew, 5grandchildren, Ashley NicoleJones (Robert), Amber Leigh Dudding, Holli Moir Stewart (Joshua), HeidiElizabeth Moir, David Matthew Dudding; 14 great grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to Berkshire Health and Rehab, Nayer Hospice and herpersonal caregivers, Alice Ridgeway and Cheryl Stevens.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2024, Longwood Cemetery, Bedfordwith Pastor Eddie Hawks officiating.
