Mable Ester Belcher Puckett

Mable Ester Belcher Puckett, 86, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Friday, November 6, 2026. She was born August 29, 1940, in Floyd County, Virginia, to the late Thomas Belcher and Della Bolt Belcher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Puckett; her sisters, Clara Crews and Louise Frazier; brothers, Paul Belcher and James Belcher; daughter in law, Sharon McPeak; and grandson, Matthew McPeak.

Mable worked in sewing at Bassett-Walker. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and working on all kinds of puzzles. Whether creating something with her hands, enjoying a good book, or piecing together a puzzle, she found pleasure in life’s simple moments.

She is survived by her five sons, James McPeak, Steven McPeak, Tracy McPeak, Earnest McPeak, and Billy Puckett; sisters, Dorothy Crews and Connie Nester; fourteen grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and other relatives and friends.

Although services will be private, the family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and care shown during this time of grief.
