Madolyn Ruth Richards

Madolyn Ruth Richards 71 years old of Roanoke Virginia passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Madolyn was born December 21, 1953 in Little Rock Arkansas. Proceeded in death are her parents, Charles Edwin Richards, Evelyn Ruth Bates Richards and her brother Charles Edwin Richards Jr. Also her grandparents David Bryant Bates and Evelyn Bates.

Madolyn will be remembered for her gentle spirit, beautiful smile and love of family and animals. Madolyn touched countless lives through her job at Goodwill until retiring. Also volunteering at Angels of Assisi, Meals on Wheels and Salvation Army. She enjoyed social events with friends, including dancing participating in parks and rec activities, social club, and special Olympics bowling events. She loved being with her family and especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

She is survived by her brother James Allen Richards of Roanoke, Robert Wayne Richards of Ga., and sister Donna Fay Elliott and brother-in-law Donald Lewis, Elliott, Sr of Boones Mill, Va, also niece Chasity Elliott, nephews Donald Lewis Elliott Jr. from North Carolina, Nicholas, Scott Elliott, and wife, Christy Elliott of TN. Great nephews, Joshua Austin Elliott, Kendel Elliott, Camden Elliott, Gavin Elliott,Great nieces Mallory Herzog, Shelby Timberlake, Kendra Elliott, great great nieces and nephew. Her caregivers Leslie and Todd Ewald who took wonderful care of her.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am in the chapel of Lotz Funeral Home.
