Malcolm O'Dell Stump

Malcolm O’Dell Stump, 58, of Martinsville, Virginia went to be with Jesus and his family who have been waiting on him on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Sovah Health of Martinsville. He was born August 27, 1964, in Martinsville to the late Ray W. Stump and Lula Belle Gauldin Stump.

In addition to his parents, Malcolm was preceded in death by his daughters, Amanda Grace Stump, and Victoria Lynn Walker Cumbee; and sister, Beatrice Jane Ausburn; paternal grandparents, Melvin and India Ferguson Stump; maternal grandparents, James Coleman Gauldin and Lizzie Jane Moxley Gauldin.

Malcolm enjoyed woodworking and building things, cooking, listening to music, and hanging out with his friends. He was always lending a helping hand. Most of all he loved his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Odell Stump (Kelly); two sisters, Linda Brock, Frances Tucker; granddaughter, Jaydance Cumbee; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, all who loved him very much; two lifelong friends, David Clingenpeel, David Ratcliff; and lifelong companion and best friend, Deborah Walker Moore. He will be forever in our hearts.

A Memorial Service will be Monday, March 13, 2023, at 5:30 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Gary Hughes officiating. Visitation will be one half hour prior to the service.
