Mamie Ruth Wright Faulkner

MAMIE RUTH WRIGHT FAULKNER, 96, of Bland, VA, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022.  She was born October 24, 1926 in Bland County, the daughter of the late Alvis Edward & Verrena Belle Ramsey Wright.

Mamie was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading her bible regularly.  She was considered to be very headstrong and enjoyed taking care of her family.  She was a lifetime member of the Bland VFW Post # 7969 Auxiliary.

Besides her parents, Mamie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wade Faulkner, her sisters, Connie Brown, Louise Fulford and Joy Tate, her brothers, Tony Wright, Alvis Wright and Leslie Wright and her son-in-law, Harold Thomas Blankenship.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ella Jean Blankenship; her sons & daughters-in-law, Keith Faulkner & Peggy Wright, Steve & Darlene Faulkner, Ricky Faulkner and Randy & Elizabeth Faulkner; her sisters, Lovada Gusler and Carolyn Ramsey; her grandchildren, Kristol Blankenship, Thomas Blankenship, Shawn Faulkner, Adam Faulkner, Brian Faulkner, Brandon Faulkner, Sherri Rice and Robert Faulkner; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, too many to list.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Rev. Danny Shortridge officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until service time, 2:00 P.M.
