Mandy Michelle Coleman

Mandy Michelle Welch Coleman, 22, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. She was born on July 21, 2003, to Danny Lee Mize, Sr. and Carolyn Waller Mize. She was preceded in death by her special friend, Bill Mays, and her grandparents, Patricia Martin, Clara Wright, and Archie Douglas Waller.

Mandy was a devoted mother whose greatest joy in life was her children, Corbett Coleman Jr. and Emily Coleman, whom she adored and loved unconditionally. She had a deep love for music and enjoyed listening to artists such as Ryan Upchurch, Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift, Shaboozey, Katy Perry, Colt Ford, and many others. She also found joy in watching videos with her family and friends.

Before transitioning to homeschooling, Mandy attended Patrick County High School. She was employed at Dollar General in Eden, North Carolina, where she truly enjoyed her work and formed close bonds with her coworkers. Mandy had a kind and loving personality that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Above all, she cherished spending time with her children.

A woman of strong faith, Mandy was a true believer in God. She attended church as often as she could and lived her life guided by compassion, kindness, and a heart for helping others.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving parents, Carolyn and Danny Welch; her beloved children, Corbett Coleman Jr. and Emily Coleman; and her siblings: Rick Welch III, Brittney Vernon, Alana Kussler, Jewel Danley, and Michael Vernon (Chasady). She is also survived by her lifelong father figures, Charles Welch Jr. and Dwayne Vernon; her godmother, Rita Kendrick; her aunt, Shennia Kendrick; her uncle, Kendall Kendrick; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Timmy Waller officiating. Interment will be private.
