Margaret Leonne Wilkins

Margaret Leonne Wilkins, 61, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 8, 2026. She was born April 7, 1965, to Leon and Lucille Byrd, both deceased. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jon Wilkins.

Leonne was a woman of Christian faith and a devoted member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School and earned her Associate of Science degree in Nursing from Patrick Henry Community College. She dedicated her career to private caregiving, finding great fulfillment in caring for others and treating each person with compassion, love, and dignity.

Outside of her work, Leonne enjoyed cooking and singing karaoke. She had a wonderful gift for bringing laughter into any room and making those around her feel loved and valued. Her greatest joy was her family, whom she loved deeply. Though she is no longer with us in person, Leonne's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her daughters, Jillian Wheeler (Andrew), Adrienne Brady (Edward); son, Matthew Lester (Ashley); sisters, Lynette Saville (Don), Kristen Cassady (Chris); grandchildren, Levi Brady, Declan Brady, Emory Lester; soon-to-arrive granddaughter Amelia Wheeler; stepdad, Clarence Cassady; precious dogs, Chloe and Cain; and many others very close to her.

The memorial service will be Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1527 E. Church Street Extension, Martinsville, VA 24112, with Bonnie Lee Witt officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Once the service has concluded, family and friends are welcome to join the family for a reception.
