Margie Marie Watkins

Margie Marie Watkins, 82, of Axton, Virginia, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024. She was born August 24, 1941, in Axton, Virginia, to the late James W. Watkins and Beulah Martin Watkins.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Lillie Carter and Sarah Morrison; and brothers, Jessie Watkins, Bobby D. Watkins, Lewis H. Watkins, John Henry Martin.Margie was a member of Mt. Sinai Holiness Church and was a dedicated employee of America of Martinsville as a finisher until retirement. She enjoyed riding and shopping, and her pocketbooks. Most importantly she loved spending time with her grandchildren.She is survived by daughters, Jocelyn Martin and Tamessa Martin; sisters, Shirley Adams and Lillian Strange; brothers, Melvin Watkins, Richard Watkins, and Larry Watkins (Lori); five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Marvin Slade officiating. Burial will follow at Watkins Martin Family Cemetery at 276 Cozy Lane Axton, Virginia 24054.
