Margit Keefer

Margit Keefer, age 80 of Moneta passed away Friday, July 26, 2024. She was born April 6, 1944, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Maria Melzer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helena Stahl. Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Stephen Keefer; children, Thomas Keefer, Craig Keefer (DeAnn) and Christine Titus (John); grandchildren, Travis (Kelsi), Renay (Cody), Justin, Melissa, Sarah and Grant (Muri) Keefer; Drew (Alex), Ryan and Sarah Titus; great-grandchildren, Damien, Mia, Ethan, Elliot, Tristan, Winry, Keanu, Zaria, Madeline, Luna, Lucci, Lucca, and Ty; brother, Rudolph “Rudy” Melzer; her beloved dog, Marley; and several nieces and nephews. Margit loved gardening, being outdoors and camping, especially at Cub Creek. She enjoyed watching soccer and football, her favorite player being Patrick Mahomes. Margit was a Past President of the German Club of Northern Virginia and was also a member of many other clubs and associations. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at Mt. Ivy Christian Church (5120 Scruggs Road, Moneta, VA 24121), 12:00 Noon Saturday, August 17, 2024 with Minister Steve Pasley officiating. Her family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to Noon prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mt. Ivy Chirstian Church in memory of Margit.
