Margrit M. Parks

November 11, 1950 - September 30, 2024

Margrit M Parks passed away September 30, 2024 at home after a long illness, surrounded by her beloved husband and children.

Born in Berlin in 1950 to parents Heinz and Marianne Krischak, Margrit came to the United States from Germany as a young woman with her handsome Air Force husband, Robert. They settled in Chicago for a few years before starting many years of traveling to different cities, even back to Germany, while starting their family. When her children were young, she attended a local community college to begin classes towards an art degree. She created gorgeous pieces of clay pottery and beautiful pencil and charcoal drawings.

Margrit spent the majority of her life in Merritt Island, Florida with her husband and children. Her biggest hobby was gardening, and their house always received the admiration and envy of the neighborhood. She also had a plethora of other hobbies including cooking, sewing, crocheting, jewelry making, and traveling.

Margrit and Robert decided to purchase their dream home after becoming grandparents and retiring. They did just that, moved to Virginia, and began working on their beautiful new home, where they enjoyed hosting their children and their families.

Margrit was a vibrant, intelligent, loving, and overall wonderful person, and she will be dearly missed by all her family, near and far. We were always fascinated by her, and honestly a little starstruck. She was so beautiful; her green eyes were like the most stunning jewels. Her smile lit up the entire room and her dimples showed most when she smirked and narrowed her eyes. Everyone adored her German accent, even though her children never noticed it!

Margrit and Robert's sister Janice were sisters-in-law, but more so best friends. Neither of them had a biological sister, and so they became sisters to each other. Witnessing hours and hours of their phone calls with each other, laughing and crying together, dishing the gossip, chit chatting about everything under the sun showed us how supportive she would be to us as adults. Two adult women who unlocked the fun young girl in each other, so special and inspiring!

Margrit is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert Parks; her children Angela Talarczyk (Michael), Diana Parks, and Andrew Parks (Whitney); and four grandchildren Emma Talarczyk, Olivia Parks, Willa Talarczyk, and Ethan Parks. Margrit is preceded in death by her dear parents and beloved sister-in-law Janice.
