Marie Canady Haraway

Marie Canady Haraway, 82, of Danville, VA passed away at her residence on Monday, January 01, 2024. Mrs. Haraway was born September 12, 1941, in Danville to the late Roy Cecil Canady and the late Roma Reed Canady.

Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member Schoolfield Church of the Brethren and had retired from SOVAH-Danville after many years of service.

She is survived by her daughter, April Clarke (Dale); sons, Wayne Adams (Karen), Matt Haraway (Teri), Tim Haraway, and Peyton Haraway; granddaughter, Kristin Clarke; grandson, Michael Clarke, and 12 other grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Percy Haraway; sister, Edna “Susie” Ferguson; brother, Ray Canady; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Haraway.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Danville Memorial Gardens, 510 Church Ave., Danville, VA 24541 with Pastor Ricky Berkley officiating.
