Marilyn Denise Waller

Marilyn Denise Waller, 68, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025. She was born February 14, 1957, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late John Henry Martin and Mae Bertha Cole Waller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Patty Florence, Sharon Clarke, and Linda Green; brothers, Michael Clarke and Dwayne Martin.

Marilyn was a hardworking and dedicated woman who took great pride in everything she did. Over the past forty-five years, she built a strong work ethic through her time with American Furniture, Novelty Furniture, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. A graduate of Drewery Mason High School, Marilyn carried herself with grace and determination. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards, dancing, and spending time with the people she loved most. Whether surrounded by family or friends, Marilyn’s joyful spirit and lively presence made every gathering memorable.

Marilyn is survived by her sisters, Irma Eggleston, Gaynell Robertson, Doretha Martin, Laura Jackie Martin, Ann Lopez Fountain (Roberto), Cynthia D. Draper, Gale “Gina” Clarke, Loretta Martin, and Tometris Massie; brothers, Dwight Waller, James Waller, Kermit Waller, Alfonzo Martin, Henry Martin, Jerome Martin, Jeffrey Martin, and John Henry Martin, Jr.

The funeral will be held Friday, April 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Bishop Alan Preston officiating. Interment will follow at Watkins Family Cemetery, 276 Cozy Lane, Axton, Virginia 24054. A visitation will be held one-half hour prior to the service.
