Marilyn Marie Eaton
Marilyn Marie Eaton, 64, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
Born Monday, September 5, 1960, in Bedford County to the late Clyde McCabe Leftwich and Frances Clark Leftwich.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Eaton; twin brother, Mark Maurice Leftwich; sister, Kennie Dickson; and grandson, Kyle Bryant.
Marilyn retired from UPS after 25 years, where she formed many lasting friendships. Retirement gave her more time to spend with her grandchildren. When playing with them, she embraced her inner child, running, playing games, and creating wonderful memories.
She delighted in caring for her beautiful flower garden, enjoyed being outdoors, and playing with her fur babies, Diesel and Daisy, whose antics never failed to bring a smile to her face. Though she was as stubborn as a mule, Marilyn had the biggest heart and found joy in helping others.
Marilyn also delighted in hosting cookouts for friends and family, firmly believing that gatherings were meant to be filled with laughter. For her, the more, the merrier was not just a saying; it was a way of life. To know Marilyn was to experience an abundance of love and care, making every moment spent with her a treasured gift.
Those left to cherish her memory include her fiancé, Mark Agee; sons, Christopher Megredy (Alisha), Shawn Megredy (Brandy), Chris Eaton (Teresa), Craig Eaton (Amy), Matthew Eaton (Michelle); siblings, Phyllis Lang, Cyndi Henderson and husband, Art, who happened to also be Marilyn’s favorite dance partner; Collins Leftwich, Rocky Lang, James Leftwich (Stephanie); 13 grandchildren; and friend Cheryl French.
A special thank you to Good Samaritan and the exceptional care team, Bridgett, Becky, and Sarah.
The family will welcome friends for a period of visitation on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home's chapel with Pastor Vannie Harrell officiating. Interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
