Mark Alan Love

November 5, 1953 - May 19, 2024

On the evening of Sunday, May 19, 2024, Mr. Mark Alan Love, passed away peacefully at Forsyth Medical Center with his wife of 47 years and his son of 28 years by his side.  Mr. Love was born on November 5, 1953, in Mount Airy, NC, to the late Kolmer Love and Betsy Mills Love.  He attended Mount Airy High School and graduated in 1972.  He married Teresa Joyce in 1976 at the age of 22.  After 19 years of marriage, they had a son, Kurt Levi Mark Love, on October 3, 1995.  There’re countless things that he loved to do, but one thing that always stood out was how much he loved his church family at Indian Grove of which he was a lifelong member.  He played piano for roughly 40 years, and he enjoyed every minute of it.  He also taught Sunday school as well as serving as a deacon for a period of time.  He did countless other things to serve God, his family and church as best as he could with the abilities that he had.  Before his passing, the last time he left home feeling good and with enough strength to enjoy himself, was to go to church.  While there he had the strength to teach Sunday school and play piano one last time which, if he had to choose one last thing to do, that would’ve been it.   He was the best husband, and father, and loved his family being involved in every aspect, from the start to the finish.   He was always there no matter what.   Mr. Love will be forever loved and remembered.  Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of the home, Teresa Jeanette Joyce Love; son, Kurt Levi Mark Love; brother, Christopher Love; sisters, Janice Yarbrough, and Shelia Heath; father-in-law, Delmar Joyce; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Frye, Toni Love, and Misty Joyce; brothers-in-law, Brian Joyce, CJ Connelly and Kent Heath.  Funeral services will be held Friday, May 24, 2024, at 2 PM at Indian Grove Baptist Church, with internment to follow in the church cemetery.   The family will receive friends on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 12:30 until 2 PM at the church.  Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Love family.
