Mark Lewis Stinnett

Mark Lewis Stinnett, 65, of Lynchburg, VA, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his devoted brother, Dewey, and his wife, Betty who faithfully cared for him during his time of need.

Born on April 29, 1961 in Lynchburg, VA, he was a son of the late William Lewis Stinnett and Lois Gertrude Layne Stinnett.

Mark was a retired machinist from L&R Precision Tooling, Inc. He took pride in his work and enjoyed keeping busy throughout his life. Outside of work, Mark had many passions. He loved going to car shows and had a special appreciation for the many trucks he owned through the years. There was one love that stood above the rest; his motorcycles. Mark was a Harley-Davidson man through and through. His love for motorcycles was a reflection of the free spirit and independent heart that made him who he was.

Mark also enjoyed fishing whenever he had the opportunity. Even when his health prevented him from enjoying it in his later years, the memories of those days spent fishing remained special to him.

Those who knew Mark will remember him most for his heart of gold. He was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. Mark had a genuine kindness about him and a way of making people feel cared for and accepted. To know Mark was a blessing, and to be loved by him was an even greater one.

Mark is survived by his brother, William “Dewey” Stinnett and his wife, Betty; and his two step-sons, Robert Hackworth, Jr. and Steven Todd Hackworth.

He was preceded in death by his step-son, Anthony Scott Hackworth; and his two brothers, Wayne Cox and Broderick Cox.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Fort Hill Memorial Park, with Rev. Bob Phillips, II officiating.

Mark will be available for viewing for those who wish to visit and pay their respects on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
