Martha Faye Belton

Martha Faye Belton, 76, of Bassett, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024, at her residence. She was born November 14, 1947, in Rocky Mount, Virginia, to the late Edgar C. Oliver and Annie Sue Oliver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Belton, Sr., seven brothers, Donnie Oliver, Dale Oliver, Lawrence Oliver, Leonard Oliver, Richard Oliver, Marion Oliver, Bobby Oliver; as well as two sisters, Sue Pearson, and Wanda Conner.

Martha attended Unity Missionary Baptist Church. She had a passion for cooking and a deep love for the Bible. She cherished spending time with family and friends, adored her grandbabies, and enjoyed chatting on the phone.

She is survived by, three sons, Arthur “Pete” Belton, Jr. (Beverly), Mark A. Belton, Sr, and Mark A. Belton, Jr.; two daughters, Tonuia L. Belton and Michelle Faye Belton; four grandchildren, Jacob C. Belton, Nicholas J. Belton, Sadie Rose Horsley, Carson Lake Horsley; one sister, Shirley DeHart; and two brothers, Ronnie Oliver, and Tom Oliver.

The celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Clearview Wesleyan Church at 925 Barrows Mill Road, Martinsville, Virginia 24112 with Pastor Jason Alverson officiating.
