Martha Foley

Martha Ward Foley, 83, of Collinsville, Va., passed away peacefully at her home on August 8, 2026. Martha was born in Newport News on June 15, 1943, to the late Cordell Ward and Irene Pendleton Ward.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents Cordell Ward and Irene Pendleton Ward. Martha is survived by her daughter; Sharon I. Foley, her son; W. Randy Foley, Brad Draper and Mathew Wilson who were considered second sons, a sister-in-law; Ruby Carter, numerous relatives and friends, and her fur babies: Cinnamon, Little Bit, Audrey, Sugar Foot, and Carly.

Martha’s family was one of the first residents of Collinsville (formerly known as Midway). She worked at Draper Flowers for 35 years. She loved being with family and friends and she enjoyed baking, making candy and cooking. She was a former member of the Virginia Genealogical Society and Franklin County Historical Society. Martha was a woman of many skills and was a babysitter for ten years, a cub scout leader, and a founding member of Collinsville Covenant Brethren Church. Martha loved arts and crafts and the history of Virginia and United States of America. She was a former member of the Christian Women’s Counsel. Above all, Martha enjoyed being a mother and was the epitome of a homemaker.

Services will be held at Collinsville Covenant Brethren Church with a visitation starting at 12 PM on Thursday August 13, 2026, from 12 PM - 1PM. The funeral service will follow at 1 PM with Pastor Roy McVey and Pastor Tony Beach officiating. The internment to follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
