Marvin Thomas Payne

Marvin Thomas Payne, 82, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2024. He was born in Danville, VA on October 1, 1941 to the late Hattie Bond Payne Overstreet and the late Artis Payne. He was also predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Mrs. Angela Barnes Payne.

Marvin was of the Holiness faith and attended the Church of God in Danville, VA. He worked for many years as a floor foreman at Dan River Mills Inc. previous to his retirement.

Marvin is survived by a son; Paul Payne (Dorothy) of Callands, VA; three sisters; Rachel Marshall, Glendine Glenn, and Peggy Banks; two brothers; Buddy Payne and Melvin Overstreet; a grandson; Thomas Payne (Makayla); three great grandchildren; Paisley Payne, Makaylynn Payne and Timmy Wayne Payne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Marvin was predeceased by a son; Marvin Allen Payne; two sisters; Verdie Taylor and Linda Knicks; and three brothers; Allen Overstreet, David Overstreet and Glenn Payne.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 1:00pm at Danville Memorial Gardens with Reverend Wade Rowland officiating.
