Mary Elizabeth Shelton Menefee

Mary Elizabeth Shelton Menefee, 72, of Bassett, passed away on Saturday, January 07, 2023, at Sovah – Health Martinsville. Mary was born on January 26 ,1950 to the late Elder Ben Frank Shelton and Mary Prunty Shelton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Lewis Donell Menefee and a daughter, Stacey Lamesha Menefee.

Mary enjoyed music especially “Slim and the Supreme Angels”. Mary also enjoyed painting, reading, and gardening.

Mary is survived by her loving son; Stere Menefee, grandchildren De’Mari Monique Menefee, Bryanna Janae Menefee, Beyonce Kityrah Menefee, Shaniyah Brenae Menefee, brother; Clarence Shelton, sisters; Linda Mayo (Bishop Joseph) Dianne Hairston (Steve), Nancy Preston (Robert) and Angela Toney (Bishop Frank). A host of other nieces, nephews, another relatives, and friends.

The visitation will be Thursday, January 12, 2022, from 11:00AM – 11:30 AM in the chapel of Bassett Funeral service with funeral services to follow at 11:30 AM with Bishop Frank E. Toney, Jr and Apostle Andria Weekes. officiating. The burial will follow in Carver Memorial Gardens.
