Mary Jenkins Long

Mary Jenkins Long, 75, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024. She was born on April 9, 1949, in Princeton, West Virginia, to the late Rush Jenkins and Rebecca Bishop Jenkins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers; Charlie, Arnold, and Jesse Jenkins.

Mary worked as a salesclerk at Jiffy Market for over 15 years. She attended Mount Bethel United Methodist Church. Mary enjoyed playing BINGO, scratch-offs, and going to Cherokee Harrah’s. She also liked needlepoint and knitting.

Mary leaves behind the following legacy; husband of 56 years, Charles Long, Sr.; daughter, Yolanda Smallwood; son, Charles “Chad” Long, Jr. (Jeanie); three grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Browning, Megan Alexandra Smallwood, and Charles “Trey” Long III (Emily); one great-grandchild, James Browning IV; two sisters, Betty Bowman, and Myrtle Dezman; and a host of other friends and family.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at Bassett Funeral Service, with Pastor George Gorman, officiating. A burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
