Mary Joyce Smith Obituary Mary Joyce Smith, 82, of Salem, VA, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 4, 2024. She was born on June 20, 1942, to the late James and Carrie Gilbert Helton. Mary enjoyed working with her hands, especially cross stitching, coloring. Her family was her greatest joy, and she enjoyed spending her time with them. She was a proud member of the Roanoke Deaf Club before it closed, and she enjoyed being a part of the deaf community. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Lee Smith; daughter, Linda Ann Hall; son-in-law, Willie Johnson, Jr.Left to cherish her memory include her children, Nancy Rose Johnson, Bonnie Smith Morris, Roger Sean Smith, Mario Valentino Smith and wife, Diana; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great- grandchild; special friends, Donald and Nancy Blankenship, and Clifton Lockridge.A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the John M.
