Mary Margaret Thomas Hudson

Ms. Mary Margaret Thomas Hudson, 76, of Dobson, passed away Tuesday night, September 3, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Ms. Hudson was born May 7, 1948, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Arvil Lee Thomas and Mary Ernestine Sechriest Richards. Margaret worked in textiles for many years and was a member of Flower Gap Primitive Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Jeff Scott and Amanda and Kevin Vaughn; her grandchildren, MaKayla Leazott and Corey Stahl, Kevin Vaughn, Jr. and Ashley Vaughn, Jesseca and Adam Tilley, and Kayla and Tim Edwards; five great-grandchildren; two sisters; and a brother, Garold Richards. In addition to her parents, Ms. Hudson was preceded in death by her special, maternal grandparents, Elder Sebron and Maggie Sechriest. A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Terry Coe and Dr. Jonathan Casstevens officiating. No formal visitation will be held; however, the family may be contacted at the home of Donna and Jeff Scott at 1477 North Franklin Road in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O. Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
