Mary Mildred Arnold

Mary Mildred Arnold, 83, of Salem, Va., passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Mary was born to the late John Coronato and Christine Bell on Sunday, February 14, 1943. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her siblings, Jack, Barb, Judy, and Becky. Mary attended Hartford City High School in Hartford City, Indiana. In her adult life, Mary worked as a cook at the VA Medical Center. She earned the “redhead stereotype” in every way. Mary was fun-loving and very motivated once she had an idea. She loved to “dress to impress” and could create an outfit for any occasion. Vanilla ice cream was one of her greatest loves. Mary adored her family, and she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Mary brought joy and warmth to everyone around her, and she will be deeply missed. Left to cherish Mary’s memory are her children, Tim, Tena, Shon, and Shea; siblings, Sue and Peter; grandchildren, Landon, Sarah, Hannah, Makeyla, Naomi, and Jonathan; and great-grandchildren, Anniston, Sawyer, Kailys, Kaisyn, and Kendall. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.
