Maurice Lamont Venable

Maurice Lamont Venable, 57, was born in Martinsville, Virginia on May 8, 1966to the late Janet Venable and Marvin Venable. He gained his heavenly wings on June 18, 2023, as he peacefully transitioned into the waiting arms of his heavenly father, following a brief illness.

He was educated at Martinsville High School and Patrick Henry Community College where he graduated with a Degree in Computer Sciences. At an early age he accepted Christ at Shilo Way Cross Church and later attended Jerusalem Christian Church where he loved learning about stories of the Bible. He always expressed a desire to travel to see parts of the world, own restaurants, retail store which were his passions.

God blessed Maurice to find happiness and love with Kay which he treated like his queen.

He helped people in whatever way he could. He transported them to the doctors office, visited the sick and shut in, cooked for them, whatever needed to be done. His generosity and kindness to others and loving nature made you realize he was one of God’s chosen vessels. He volunteered with the Bruce Dallas swim team as an instructor, was a member of Devin Hairston Scholarship, serving dinners to veterans, and talent shows. He loved to listen to gospel music and watch inspirational Gospel network.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Kay Sandra Dillard; brothers, Marvin Venable (Felicia), Melvin Venable, Marco Venable, Troy Venable, Michael Venable (Amber), Manti Venable ( Danielle), and Toney Teel; a host of nieces and nephews; step-mother, Carolyn Venable; and special friends, Regina and Dink Hairston.

Maurice is now at rest and reunited with his beloved mother, father, and grandparents.
