Mazie Bobbitt Ward

Mrs. Mazie “Faith” Bobbitt Ward, 91, of Mount Airy, passed away early Monday morning, June 3, 2024, at Dunmore Plantation in Dobson.  Mrs. Ward was born July 23, 1932, in Carroll County, VA, the daughter of the late William M. and Lela Hestoria Hawks Bobbitt.  She retired as a unit clerk from Northern Regional Hospital and was a member of Cedar Lane Baptist Church.  She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Oral and Tina Ward and Timothy Lee and Katheryn Ward; eight grandchildren, Summer Ward, Dustin Ward, Justin Ward, Heather Ward, Ashley Ward, Kayla Ward, Brandon Ward, and Kenny Ward; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Conard Ward; an infant sister; a sister, Mary Maude Bobbitt Hash; seven brothers, Rufus Gordon Bobbitt, Ernest Jackson Bobbitt, William Kyle Bobbitt, Howard Morgan Bobbitt, Romie Clark Bobbitt, James Wade Bobbitt, and Joe Bobbitt; and two half-brothers, Clayton Johnnie Bobbitt and Harvie Jackson Bobbitt.  A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Hawks Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Jack Anderson officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.  The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at Dunmore Plantation.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
