Melvin E. Huffman

Melvin E. Huffman, 86, widower of Verna “Judy” Leffel Huffman, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at his home. He was born in Roanoke and was the son of the late Ernest H. and Elsie Marie Crook Huffman. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy, and his siblings; Charles Huffman, John Huffman, Cecil Huffman, Margaret Huffman, Frances Carter, and Linda Pollard.

Melvin was a kind hearted, loving man who would do anything for you. He loved his family beyond measure and worked tirelessly through the years to ensure that his family was provided for. Melvin was also a gifted mechanic and could fix almost anything.

He will be missed and remembered by his daughters, Janet DeWeese, Karen Pratt and Sharon Parker; sisters, Brenda Smallwood and Evelyn Altice; close friends and caregivers, Terry and Missy Spradlin; multiple grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice for the care that was shown to the entire family, and also a special thank you to his life long friend, Mr. & Mrs. Trompeter for being a faithful friend.

In accordance with Melvin’s wishes, there will not be any service held.
