Michael Davis (Woo-Woo) Gwyn

Mr. Michael Davis “Woo-Woo” Gwyn age 64 of Mount Airy entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Hugh Chatham Health in Elkin. Mr. Gwyn was born on May 11, 1962, in Surry County to the late Davis Junior Gwyn and Gloria Diane Simmons Gwyn Cassell. Mike also known as Woo-Woo was a loving and caring father to his children and most importantly a grandfather, a title he was so proud of. He had an infectious smile and was always joking around with everyone. An avid dirt track racing fan as well as having a love for working on muscle cars, especially mustangs. His children were the center of his life; he coached them and others in softball. A devoted Christian of the Baptist faith, Mike placed his faith in his Lord Jesus. Mr. Gwyn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving is his daughters and sons-in-law, Brittany Gwyn Edwards and Joey, Emily Gwyn Sapp and Kenny, Adriene Gough and Jarrod, sons and daughters-in-law, Mason Horton and Brooke, Cody Cameron and Kayla; eight grandchildren, Peyton Cameron, Aiden Cameron, Levi Sapp, Layne Sapp, Cade Horton, Ridge Horton, Rogan Edwards, Lily Paige Edwards; his fiancé, Libby Horton; along with several aunts. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gwyn was preceded in death by a brother, Mitchell Dean Gwyn. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Community Baptist Church with Reverend Brad Quesinberry officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Community Baptist Church from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
