Michael Eugene Slaughter

MICHAEL EUGENE SLAUGHTER,  of Bastian, VA,  passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at home, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born June 8, 1954 in Bluefield, WV.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Gill Slaughter, his son, Quentin Michael Slaughter and his younger brothers Jimbo Newman, and Hubert Andrew (”Andy”) Slaughter. 

Left to cherish his memory are his wife a 51 years, Marlene Musick Slaughter; his daughter, Heather Slaughter Steffey and husband, Brad; his grandchildren, Savannah Slaughter and Tim ,Colton Slaughter and Stephanie, Garrett Steffey and Kaitlyn, Scarlet Steffey and Cassidy Slaughter; his great-grandchildren, Keyton , Mila, and Quinnley; his father, Eugene Slaughter; his brothers, David Harvey Slaughter and wife, Vickie, Tj Slaughter and wife Lillian ,BR Slaughter and wife Samantha; his sisters, Margaret, Eugena(”Gina“) Havens and Jeff and Elizabeth Marie Farris; his special mother-in-law, Josephine Musick; his brothers-in-law, Tommy Musick and Katrina and Donald Musick and Donna;  and many loved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, more friends that you could count. 

He was loved by many. Mike made a mark on this world that was definitely unforgettable to every one who met him. He will not be forgotten. 

Per Mike’s request, he will be cremated and  there will be no services at this time. There will be a memorial service planned at a later date.
