Michael Lee Gibson

September 18, 1959 - June 4, 2025

Michael Lee Gibson, 65 of Pembroke, Virginia departed this life June 4, 2025 in his home with his loving wife by his side. Born September 18, 1959 he was a son of the late Warren and Beulah Martin Gibson.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Shuler Martin and Irene Gillispie Martin of Pembroke.

Professionally, Michael was a certified welder, Journeyman and maintenance mechanic for over 41 years at Wolverine Gasket Company. He also enjoyed working on Harley Davidson Motorcycles in his spare time. Mike made many close friends at work and most were friends for life.

His most cherished times were spent with his wife, Terri and his three grandsons, Aiden, Jaxson, and Cole; and his son-in-law, Alex Wilson who he loved dearly and with his whole heart. Mike and Terri spent many days on his Harley doing road trips and always met new friends and adventures. He never met a stranger and was always a friend to all who knew him. His closest friends were and always will be a part of our family. All of our fur babies throughout the years were also a very big part of his family. We couldn’t have spoiled them rottener, they were Sharley, Dolla Do, Chubear, Jazzy, and Boo Boo.

Left to cherish his memory are the love of his life, his loving wife of 36 years, Teresa “Terri” Cupp Gibson; a daughter, Chelsey; a very special son-in-law, Alex Wilson; his 3 precious grandsons, Aiden Wilson, Jaxson Wilson, and Cole Wilson; brothers, Martin T Gibson and Mark E Travis; a special aunt and uncle, Rachael Travis (and the late Clarence Travis);cousins, Tommy Detamore, Eddie Detamore, Scotty Detamore; Brian and Jerry Martin; and many more cousins; her Aunt Brienda Martin, niece and nephew, Jessica Porterfield and Noah Gibson and their families; and his Lynchburg family who he loved dearly.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for all of the ease and support they have received from the emergency personnel from Giles Lifesaving and Rescue, Carilion Ambulance Services, and Pembroke Fire Department over the past year. The love and compassion shown is second to none. The family also wishes to thank the staff of Kendall Funeral Home for the compassion and grief support received during this heartbreaking time. A very special thank you from Mike and Terri is extended to his nurse, “Brianna” whom he thought the world of. She is truly an angel in our eyes. Her compassion and love extended was second to none.

The family will receive friends in a time of visitation at Kendall Funeral Home on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be conducted in Kendall Funeral Home on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 6:00 PM with Pastor Simon Jones officiating.
