Michael "Mike" Jeffrey Bennington

Michael Jeffrey “Mike” Bennington, age 71 of Danville, Virginia passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Sovah Health in Danville, Virginia. Mr. Bennington was born December 4, 1954 in Denton, Maryland to the late Mayme Guilfoyle Bennington and the late Oliver Kenneth Bennington. He was married to Susie Todd Bennington.

Mike was a faithful member and music minister at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church and was a music teacher at Sacred Heart Catholic School until his retirement. Mike was a dedicated and passionate piano tuner and organ technician. He loved and enjoyed music of all kinds. He will always be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife of the residence, he is also survived by his sons, Michael Jeffrey “Miki” Bennington, Jr. and Spencer Todd Bennington; his grandchildren, Tyler Trace Bennington and Kayla Jade Bennington; his devoted friends, Steve Kent, Ken Harris, Glen Dillion, and Tim Kemp; his dedicated and loyal nurse, Sherrice Payne; and his beloved pet, Sophie.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother, Kevin Bennington.

A graveside service honoring Mr. Bennington will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Danville Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jason Bryant officiating. A visitation will be held Monday, July 13, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Service, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, if you would like to honor Mike's memory, the family requests donations be made to Mount Olivet United Methodist Church.
