Michael Page Ginther
Michael Page Ginther, a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and love. Born on July 8, 1963, Michael brought joy, humor, and strength into the lives of everyone who knew him. He was a man of quiet conviction, unwavering kindness, and sharp wit—someone whose presence brought calm and whose laughter brought light.
Born to Joyce and Chris Ginther, Michael was raised with a strong foundation of faith, family, and hard work. He was the proud grandson of John and Helen Via, and Josephine and Benny Ginther, from whom he inherited a legacy of compassion, humility, and grace.
Michael spent his life working as a butcher, a craft he took great pride in and practiced with unmatched skill and dedication. Through his work, he forged lasting relationships with customers, coworkers, and community members—many of whom became lifelong friends. Among his closest was Eddie Lipscomb, a loyal friend who stood by Michael through the years with the kind of bond that can only be built through shared time, trust, and mutual respect.
Michael shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Denise Ginther, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and enduring memories. He was a proud and dedicated father to his two sons, Joseph “Johnny Payne” and Aaron Ginther, who carry forward his values and spirit. His love extended beyond blood, as shown in his deep bond with his “adopted daughter” Jessica Walker, whom he loved as his own.
Michael had a sharp wit and a playful sense of humor. He loved to pick fun at those around him—never out of malice, but always in good spirit—and he had a unique gift for keeping everyone on their toes. His teasing was often a sign of his affection, and his quick remarks and one-liners will be missed just as much as his wisdom and warmth.
He is survived by his loving wife Denise; his sons Joseph and Aaron Ginther; His Aunt Julia Smith “Jerry Smith”; his brothers Paul Ginther and Ben “Linda” Ginther; his “adopted daughter” Jessica Walker; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Kesha Monroe (who was always there whether you wanted her to be or not), Stuart Hunt, TJ Monroe, Lauren Bressler and her husband Eric Bressler, and Matthew Ginther and his wife Hannah Ginther, Haley Ginther, Ethan Ginther, and Chris Ginther. He is also remembered fondly by many treasured friends who became like family over the years.
Michael will be remembered for the quiet but powerful way he showed up for those he loved—for his steadiness in moments of uncertainty, his humor in times of sorrow, and his enduring belief in doing what was right, not what was easy. His life was marked by integrity, humility, hard work, laughter, and a rare ability to make others feel truly seen and valued.
A special thank you to Lorena Yoder and General Shepherd for their support and care during the last months.
