Michaelene Robinson
Michaelene (Ely) Robinson, 75, known better to her family and friends as Micki, went to dance with abandon on the streets of heaven on Friday, August 30, 2024.Micki was an example of perseverance in spite of her conditions and regardless of her pains. She never gave up living each day to the fullest. She was born, raised, and lived most of her life in Akron, Ohio and spent the last year and a half, living in Vinton, Virginia with her daughter, Julie and son in law, Scott. She was a long-time member of St. Paul Church in Akron, Ohio. Micki accomplished many things in her lifetime, including several successful careers, business ownership, and secondary education where she earned her Associates Degree in Medical Assisting. She went on to work at Akron Children’s Hospital where she was able to live out her passion for children and healthcare. After retiring, she embarked on a creative journey where she enjoyed her love for her animals, gardening, collecting, and crafting with her mom - all of which brought her much joy. She was a ferocious lover of her entire family. She was preceded in death by her father, James Alvis Ely, her beloved mother Felicia Ely, father and mother-in-law, Arther and Betty Robinson, brother James Ely and brother-in-law Gary Taylor. Leaving behind to rejoice in the memories of her life is her beloved, faithful, hardworking, and dedicated husband and father of her children, Bob. They were married July 29, 1966, and spent 58 happy and wonderful years together. She is also survived by her two daughters Deb (Rod) and Julie (Scott); five grandchildren Joshua (Catherine), Jake (Taylor), Jess (Will), Clay (Ashley), and Rylee; and 6 great grandchildren Ellery, Madeline, Kaia, Evie, Renner and Isabella; siblings, Mary (Ardie), Pat, Rick (Shelley), and Kitty; brother-in-law Bill (Roberta).
