Mildred B. Mundy

Mildred B. Mundy, 92, of Martinsville, VA, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Sovah Health - Martinsville. She was born on May 19, 1931, to the late Joseph L. Brookman and Ruby A. Sweeney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter Janice D. Mundy Jones previously of Collinsville, Va., brother Wallace Brookman sister-in-law Judy Brookman of Vinton, Va, daughter-in-law, Leona G. Mundy of Bassett, Va., and Toy Mundy daughter-in-law of Rocky Mount, Va.

Mildred was a loving, caring and beautiful woman. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, and sister. She never met a stranger and she loved everyone as well as she was loved back by everyone.

Mildred is survived by sons, Lewis Leo “Bobby” Mundy Jr. of Rocky Mount, Va., Joseph Wayne Mundy of Bassett, Va., granddaughter, Lisa G. Mundy Joyce of Bassett, Va., grandson Shannon D. Janey of Collinsville, Va., three great-granddaughters: Kayla Walker & fiancé of Bassett, Va., Kaysee Walker-Marshall and husband of Penhook, Va., Skylar Janey of Collinsville, Va., two great-grandsons Austin Janey and Parker Janey both of Collinsville, Va., five great great grandchildren, brother Carl (Donna) Brookman of Vinton, Va., one uncle Lewis Brookman of Rocky Mount, Va. and along with several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am on Wednesday, July 5,2023, at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where a funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am with Jerry Hopkins presiding. Burial will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park at 2:00pm in Roanoke, Virginia.
