Mildred Hope Wood McBride

Mrs. Mildred Hope Wood McBride, age 76, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born on November 2, 1949 in Surry County to the late Clyde Odell Wood and Bertha Harrison Wood Capps. Mrs. McBride retired from Cross Creek Apparel where she worked as a supervisor. After leaving Cross Creek she enrolled in Surry Community College and received a degree in Horticulture. She loved working in her flower gardens and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Edgar “Pete” McBride; children, Matthew McBride (Denise), Zachary McBride (Valerie); grandchildren, Justice, Lucas, Elijah, Ethan, Bryson, Maddie, Savannah, and Abraham McBride; great-grandchildren, Addison, Harrison, and Hosanna McBride as well as one on the way; sister, Debbie Bowman (Blane); special nephew, Christopher Bowman (Christina). A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with service conducted by Pastor Donnie McBride. The family will receive friends on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time for the service at the funeral home.
