Mildred M. Gilmer

MILDRED MARIE GILMER, 93, of the Clendennin Community of Narrows, VA, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at Heritage Hall – Rich Creek. She was born April 23, 1933 in Berton, VA, the daughter of the late Ernest & Sallie Sarver.

Mildred was a hard worker and worked in production and retired from Oxford. She was a homebody and enjoyed spending time with her neighbor at her home in Clendennin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Kent & Sallie Ellen Harless Sarver, her brothers, Calvin and Lacy, her sisters, Florence and Gladys and her husband, Earl Miller Gilmer.

She is survived by her sister, Ruth Fillinger; her stepchildren, Buck Gilmer and Fern Kendall; a special neighbor, Pat Kirk; and step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service is planned for Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at the Angels Rest Cemetery, Narrows.
