Minnie Sue Wright, 69, of Lynchburg, VA, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 1, 2024 with her beloved sister Ruby by her side. Born on May 8, 1955, in Lynchburg, Minnie brought a light into the world that radiated through every moment of her life. She was the daughter of Laura J. Wilson, who preceded her in death, as did her husband of 17 cherished years, Doug R. Wright.Minnie was known by family and friends as a truly loving and caring soul. She was the kind of person who would call her siblings every day just to check in, showing her unending love and thoughtfulness. Minnie had a natural talent for making others feel special, always lending a helping hand whenever it was needed. Her warmth and laughter could fill any room, and her infectious joy made the world a brighter place.Christmas was Minnie’s favorite time of year, and she adored giving big-hearted gifts that brought smiles to her loved ones’ faces. Whether sharing a meal or sharing a laugh, she relished every moment spent with family and friends. Her love for coloring was a reflection of her colorful personality, one that could light up any room she entered.Minnie is survived by her son, Conway F. Johnson (Vanessa Morris), and by her stepfather, Tiny Wilson. She is also survived by her devoted siblings; James Johnson (Dee Dee), Ronnie Johnson (June), Michael C. Johnson (Dorri), and Ruby Davis (Kenny), along with 14 nieces and nephews; Cody, Kelly, Laura, William, Chris, Amber June, Michael Jr., Felicia, Shyanne Star, Angela, David, Sara, Wayne, and Kitten (Andrew). Each one of them holds a special place in their hearts for Aunt Minnie. She will be dearly missed.A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, with Pastor Gabrielle Gerling officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather immediately after the service to honor Minnie’s memory. Burial will be private. Whitten Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Timberlake Chapel, is honored to serve the family.
