Monroe Wesley Housman

Monroe Wesley Housman, age 87 of Ferrum died Sunday, June 28, 2026. He was born December 27, 1938 a son of the late Clyde Wesley and Olyer Young Housman. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lolene Peters Housman; sister, Helen Housman Pagans (Ervin); brother, Walter Madison Housman; sisters-in-law, Corina Wagoner and Vieva Dickerson; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Peters. He retired as a supervisor with Yokohama Tire with many years of service. Surviving are his sisters-in-law, Roxie Nichols (Jesse), Goldie Hughes, Judy Peters and Peggy Housman; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Elliot and Debra Scott. Funeral services will be conducted at Scottie’s Fertilizer House, (679 Morgan’s Fork Road, Penhook, VA 24137), 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2026 with Rev. John Ingram officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Ferrum. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Scottie’s.
