Mother Mary Martin Waller

Mother Mary Martin Waller, 85, of Axton, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. She was born on November 14, 1940, to Hilton Martin and Lottie Watkins Martin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry Waller; and her brothers, Joe Lewis Watkins, Joseph Martin, and Hilton Martin, Jr.

A hardworking and dependable woman, Mary retired after many years of dedicated service with Tultex. She was a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Holiness Church, where she served as the Church Mother with grace, wisdom, and unwavering devotion.

She is survived by daughters, Sandra Waller Hairston (Patrick) and Sharon Roberts (William); son, Gary Waller (Gloria); sisters, Mary “Polly” Martin (Curtis) and Isabella Penn; grandchildren, Lakendal Gravely, Darius Waller, LeDante’ Boler, Tajiyona Hairston, Lisha Moorman, Beverly Wiggins (Michael) and Salena Hairston; 14 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and sincere gratitude to the staff and management of Roman Eagle Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care, kindness, and support shown to their loved one.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Mt. Sinai Holiness Church in Axton, Virginia with Pastor Arnold Bullock, officiating. Internment will follow at The Watkins Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service.
