Myrtle Louise Gibson

MYRTLE “LOUISE” HESS GIBSON, 87, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. She was born October 9, 1936 in Boissevain, VA.  

Louise was a devoted Chirstian and a member of the Dry Fork Baptist Church, where she was good worker and served as aa treasurer and Sunday School teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Hamilton & Helen Phipps Hess, her brother, Joseph Franklin Hess and her loving husband of 46 years, Bobby Joe Gibson, Sr.

She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Bobby Joe, Jr. & Pamela Patton Gibson; her grandsons, Westen Patton (Emily), James Thompson (Beth), Paul Thompson (Dawn). Bobby Gibson III, and Luke Gibson (Marie); almost 10 great-grandchildren, Chloe T., Palmer G., Lucas P., Nora G., Avery T., Everett T., Willa G., Owen G., Emmett P., and coming soon, Cooper G; her brother, James Hess; her puppy dog companion, “Babe”  and her special friend, Sally Lambert.

Louise was creative and loved to sew and craft. She loved gardening, canning, growing flowers and house plants.

Louise (“Granny”) will be missed by so many. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Dry Fork Baptist Church with Rev. George Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 P.M. until service time, 2:00 P.M.  Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, VA, at 11:00 A.M.
