Nancy Ann Hoke Shinault

Nancy Ann Hoke Shinault, 83, of Salem, Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026. She was born on July 22, 1942, in Asbury, West Virginia, to the late Kyle Richter Hoke and Rita Jean Williams Hoke.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Wilmer Shinault; and her brothers, Kenneth "Sonny" Hoke, Darrel Hoke, and Butch Hoke.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jeanette Barnard and Irene Shinault; her son, Marvin Shinault; her sister, Emma Jane Baldwin; her grandchildren, Jessica Neidfelt, Cole Barnard, and Ashley Stout; many great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Nancy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved reading mystery novels, relaxing while watching crime television shows, and spending time gardening.
