Nancy Lee Hill

Nancy Lee Pyrtle Hill, age 77 of Danville, Virginia passed away January 11, 2025, at her residence, while under the loving care of her family. Ms. Hill was born July 2, 1947, in Danville, Virginia to the late Elsie Brightwell Pyrtle and the late William Pyrtle. She worked for 10 years as a file clerk for the Juvenile Domestic Relations Court of the City of Danville.

She is survived by a daughter, Kristie Swaringen (Mike), a sister, Sheila Pyrtle, a brother Roger Pyrtle, seven grandchildren, Destiny Eldridge, Brandy Russett, Tabatha Powell, Colt Swaringen, Zayn Powell, Zaylynd Powell and Brianna Powell, as well as three great-grandchildren, Kyle Russett, Nikki Perkins and Chance Harvey. In addition, she is survived by a “bonus daughter”, Ashley Williams.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Hill was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Tolley, a son, Johnny Tolley and four deceased siblings, David Pyrtle, Elaine Ritch, Sandra Grant and Dennis Pyrtle, as well as a grandson, Cody Powell.

A funeral celebrating Ms. Hill’s life will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the West End Chapel of Norris Funeral Service, 511 Church Ave. Danville, VA 24541, officiated by Pastor Allen Roberson. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. Prior to the funeral service, the family will receive friends, also at the West End Chapel, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence of Ms. Hill.
