Natalie Evans Mckown Jacobson

July 13, 1941 - January 28, 2024

Natalie Evans McKown Jacobson of Martinsville, Va. passed away surrounded by her loved ones on January 28, 2024. Natalie was preceded in death by her father, William Bryan McKown and her mother, Esther Timberlake McKown, as well as her brother, Tyree Lee McKown.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Orin Jacobson and her children, Lynne (Patrick) Critzer, Bryan (Peggy) Jacobson, and Susanne Jacobson. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Amanda Richardson, Rebekah Jacobson, Robert Jacobson, Jackson Critzer, and her great-grandchild, Aiden Richardson.

Natalie loved her family and grandchildren profusely. She had a way of talking with them about their lives, patiently hearing their comings and goings and offering support or encouragement. She believed fully in the power of a good laugh. As a Christian and longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, she also fully believed in the power of prayer.

Natalie was an avid reader and highly skilled artisan as well. She was a member of the Virginia Foothills Quilters Guild, a Piedmont Arts Community Partner. She loved quilting and planned, designed and created stunning works. Her quilts grace the homes of so many and will be of great comfort to her family and friends and will serve as a reminder of her vibrance.

A private Celebration of Life ceremony with close family members will occur at a future date.
